Introducing Our Upcoming Black Honey Coffee Release

Coffee enthusiasts, get ready for something truly special—our Costa Rica Black Honey coffee is arriving soon, and it’s set to redefine your expectations of what a cup of coffee can be.

Sourced from the esteemed Las Lajas micro-mill in Sabanetilla, Poás, Alajuela, Costa Rica, this coffee is the result of the innovative vision of Oscar Chacon and Francisca Cubillo. The Las Lajas family is renowned for their commitment to sustainability, quality, and experimental processing methods that consistently yield award-winning coffees.

  • : Expect a lively cup bursting with bright lemon and lime notes, juicy concord grape, and a vibrant, refreshing acidity.

  • : Sabanetilla, Poás, Alajuela, Costa Rica

  • : 1300–1600 meters above sea level

  • : Bourbon, Catuai, Caturra, Villa Sarchi

  • : Signature black honey process, with beans meticulously dried on raised beds to maximize sweetness and complexity

The “black honey” process is a standout method at Las Lajas. After harvesting, the coffee cherries are pulped, leaving a significant amount of sticky fruit mucilage on the beans. These beans are then carefully dried on raised beds, allowing the sugars to infuse the beans with a rich, fruity sweetness and layered complexity.

This labor-intensive approach requires constant attention and expertise, resulting in a cup profile that is both expressive and memorable.

  • : Las Lajas is a leader in environmentally conscious coffee production, using innovative techniques to reduce water use and minimize their ecological footprint.

  • : The Chacon-Cubillo family’s dedication to quality and experimentation ensures each lot is unique and meticulously crafted.

  • : This Black Honey coffee is a small-batch, seasonal offering—once it’s gone, it’s gone!

We can’t wait to share this exceptional coffee with you. Whether you’re a seasoned specialty coffee drinker or just beginning your journey, the upcoming release of our Black Honey coffee promises a tasting experience like no other.
